Policies and Rates
Current rates are $25 per half hour and $45 per hour. Discounts will be given to families with multiple students taking lessons. The first lesson is free!
Tuition- After the initial trial lesson, payment is due weekly, biweekly, or at the end of each month. A $10 late fee per week will be assessed if payments are not received by the due date. Payment is accepted in the form of cash or check.
Attendance- Students are requested to arrive on time: extra time will not be allotted to accommodate late lessons. Students will be allowed two unpaid absences per semester; all other absences, regardless of reason, are at the student’s expense. Makeup lessons will be given at the teacher’s convenience. Lessons missed by the teacher will be refunded or a makeup will be scheduled. Major holidays are observed.
Parent Participation- Parents are greatly encouraged to actively participate in the students practice time at home. Parents are also allowed to observe the lesson, or wait in the sitting room. Drinks, magazines, television, or coloring books are available upon request.
Materials required- Piano books, a folder for sheet music, a metronome, pencil, and small tote bag are requested for beginning students. Instructor will purchase books and collect the additional fee throughout the year (books are approx. 20 dollars per semester). For guitar and flute lessons, please bring your instrument.
If you need help researching a particular instrument, Becky is available for consultation.
Practice- Students are asked to practice a minimum of four days per week; actual time spent each day will depend on the nature of the lesson and the student’s capabilities. |
